From a personal standpoint, this has truly been one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my career. The training methods and quality of the sessions were outstanding. The Gibson team’s experience, dedication, and patience were evident at every step, and the training facilities were top-notch. These factors combined to create an environment that made it easy to focus on what mattered most, validating and selecting the right suppliers.
As a Controls Engineer, my background was primarily in engineering, but this process has given me valuable exposure to manufacturing, procurement, purchasing, and production processes. It has expanded my understanding beyond my technical field, allowing me to see the bigger picture of how these areas work together. Additionally, the training methods significantly improved my confidence in public speaking, which has been an unexpected but highly beneficial outcome. We were also fortunate to visit and evaluate some of the best manufacturers in the world, companies I had previously only known by name but never imagined I would be negotiating with firsthand.
Additionally, the idea of hosting a second session focused specifically on electronics, introduced by our Gibson consultant, was an excellent addition. It provided suppliers with a deeper understanding of our electronic component requirements and improved overall communication.
