This past week, the 2019 Gibson Summer Associate class completed their final program requirement; the end of summer all firm presentations. The goal of these presentations was to showcase all the hard work of each Summer Associate and what skills they have learned throughout the program, and more importantly what results they have yielded. During a full day retreat the Gibson executive team and 40 plus members of our firm heard about our interns’ experiences interacting one-on-one with their client team members, supporting internal firm development projects, and continuing to develop industry required skills (Excel/Access/Power BI/SQL focused.) Everyone from our founding partner Wes Gibson, to forty plus additional members of the firm were present to hear about their experiences, learnings, and results. Each Summer associate had the opportunity to field questions, interact with the team, and solicit feedback. After the presentations concluded, Gibson team members gathered at Steak48 to celebrate their hard work, professional growth, and dedication to the firm over the summer. The Gibson Summer Associate Leadership Team, led by Brett Fehr and Emily Brett, would like to personally thank all of the Summer Associates for their hard work this summer. Best of luck back at school, we will miss you!
About the Summer Associate Program:
The Summer Associate Program at Gibson is a deep dive, hands-on exposure into what consulting is truly like. Following an intensive week of Onboarding Training in the Chicago Office, each Summer Associate is assigned to a client team to work as a full-time consultant. Each week, the Summer Associates fly out to the client site (both in the U.S. and abroad) to work alongside their Gibson and client team. The 2019 Summer Associate class traveled over 30,000 miles to client sites in 8 states and 4 different countries. Summer Associates are able to provide value to Gibson’s Fortune 500 clients while, in a real world, hands-on setting, being able to sharpen their core consulting skills. From supporting $100M+ contract negotiations, to evaluating a European steel supplier’s production line, to supporting the implementation of $150M+ in category savings, each summer associate has a truly unique consulting experience. These experiences, alongside finely-tuned core consulting skills are critical in developing of the next generation of well-rounded consultants.
